I see pics of aftermarket units and they don't seem to have the RF IDs printed on them.thus I would need a RF reader/TPMS tool to "see" the codes?(read trip to dealer and $$$$) It seems that this issue occurs primarily when a user is communicating to the vehicle with an Ethernet capable VIM and is affecting both dealer and aftermarket users.

My understanding is that the techstream will not "find" new TPMS RF ID codes? You must know the RF IDs from being printed on the side of the TPMS unit(the Pacific branded ones are like this for sure). Toyota North America has recently discovered that Techstream Version 15.00.028 (the latest software) may exhibit an issue when trying to access certain utilities. If the fob is new/virgin you can just add it using Techstream, no passcode required.
